selfish sex can occur within a marriage, too. Some people firmly believe they have the right to someone else’s body once they are married. Some pastors (ahem) even teach that. I would rather that two unmarried people have sex that honors one another’s autonomy than that two married people treat each other’s bodies with disrespect.

  1. I think a lot of people, or at least Americans, struggle with an “either/or” mindset. Either you are a Christian and live a pure, wholesome life, or you are depraved, sexually promiscuous and disrespectful. I fully agree with the statement above that two unmarried people having sex with respect for each other is “better” than two married people treating each other disrespectfully.

    I would love to hear your thoughts on the original article.
